EXERCISE
I have found the combination of time on a treadmill and two short sessions on the PowerPlate do a lot of good in strengthening my muscles. I have found that if I don’t use much of an incline (only a 1.5 or 2.0) and don’t use an outrageous pace (about 3.0 to 3.5 mph), I can continue without stressing my body too much.
It is important to keep in mind that as I do these things, I am praising the Lord for strength returning to me, for my healing, for my wellness, etc. He is faithful to let me know when I’ve had enough and when I listen to Him, I do fine!
I also like the Total Gym fitness equipment, but will admit I need to get back to using that one. It is good for strengthening all muscles and has various extra attachments (e.g., bike pedals) that provide added benefit, if used. J
I am in the process of researching the benefits of horseback riding and have learned there may be some good benefits to balance and leg strengthening related to this wonderful activity. I have just begun this research, so don’t have much more to offer right now. It’s been years since I’ve gone horseback riding, but I want to start again and report back!
Like everything else, one has to commit to doing the things necessary to improve their quality of life. Exercise is one of those necessary things.
1Corinthians 9:27 “But I discipline my body and bring it into subjection, lest, when I have preached to others, I myself should become disqualified.”
