VITAMINS / SUPPLEMENTS
As I have mentioned earlier, I chose not to pursue any man-made medical prescriptions in treating MS symptoms. I have heard there are many good medicines out there and it is not my intent to cast those in a bad light. I just chose a different path --- a combination of spiritual and natural methods, primarily spiritual.
Having said that, however, it is my personal belief that God created everything we need in this earth to live healthy lives. I believe that some things haven’t been discovered yet, but they are out there somewhere waiting for someone to hear from God. Some medicines are made from items found in nature which God created for us. I sense those may be the most safe --- again, just a personal opinion.
I have found that taking additional supplements has been of help to me. Although there are mixed views about whether vitamin and/or herbal supplements are actually needed in one’s life, I based my “yes” answer on my own experience. I have read articles about food supplies these days being very different than they were even 50 years ago. I have read that the quality of our soil is even different these days and it no longer provides all the nutrients it used to provide. Consequently, the theory is that our food is not as healthy for us as it once was, which results in the need to “supplement” what we get from our food. I tend to agree with this, but certainly respect someone’s opinion to the contrary. Each person needs to decide these issues for themselves. I’m not writing to tell people what to do, but to tell them what I did/do.
One of the best decisions I made about 18 years ago (right about the time I was turning age 40) was to seek nutritional advice from a Certified Nutritionist. I learned lots from her after just a few visits. After some blood tests were done, I received recommendations pertaining to vitamins and herbs that would be the best for me. I highly recommend seeing a Certified Nutritionist to anyone, even if you are not battling health issues. Unfortunately, this kind of consultation is not typically covered by health insurance --- at least it wasn’t when I did it. Don’t let that stop you. Perhaps you can find an MD that has a proclivity to nutrition as well as their medical specialty. I found that in the most recent Neurologist I saw for a check-up.
To at least give my readers an idea of some of the important supplements to take, I am including a link to a website I found recently from an organization in the United Kingdom. I am not recommending this site for all the other content, as I have not reviewed all of it, but I did find their suggested list of supplements very close to those given to me by my Nutritionist. I still take many of the items listed here, but not all of them. Caution: Please don’t just decide to take these on your own --- work with your Doctor, Nutritionist or other Healthcare Professional. Also --- please be proactive and do your own research.

As I have mentioned before, ask God for His direction before you proceed with anything. He’ll confirm what He wants for you with peace in your heart, no anxiety or confusion.
Genesis 9:3 “In the past, I gave you the green plants to eat. Now every animal will also be food for you. I give you everything on earth--it is yours.” (ERV)
1Corinthians 10:31 “Therefore, whether you eat or drink, or whatever you do, do all to the glory of God.” (NKJV)
Ezekial 47:12 “Along the bank of the river, on this side and that, will grow all kinds of trees used for food; their leaves will not wither, and their fruit will not fail. They will bear fruit every month, because their water flows from the sanctuary. Their fruit will be for food, and their leaves for medicine." (NKJV)
